I have to desert you for a week or so. Maybe I shouldn't have given up racing sailing dinghies - whatever the cause, my abdominal muscles went flabby and I managed to get myself a 'bilateral direct inguinal hernia', and I'm going to get it stitched up on Thursday.

Since I have 9 boisterous dogs at home, I have judged it prudent to stay for a week with friends whose only pet is a small and gentle cat. That means I shall be away from my PC and unable to add content to this site or answer e-mail.
